Stakeholders meet in Saxony-Anhalt state in Germany
On 30 November 2016, the Ministry for Regional Development and Transport of Saxony-Anhalt (MLV) invited stakeholders to a workshop in Magdeburg to inform about the EU-project RUMOBIL and planned pilot activities in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
More than 60 guests from various groups of interest, such as local and regional authorities, public transport companies, and the passenger rail service council, participated to the event. The first part of the workshop was dedicated to the presentation of the project RUMOBIL, the pilot actions foreseen in Saxony-Anhalt, and existing good-practices in the field of innovative public transport solutions. The latter have been presented by three speakers from the neighboring Federal State Brandenburg, who focused their presentation on the implementation of innovative bus services, the collaboration with relevant stakeholders, outcomes, and challenges. In the second part of the workshop, this expertise has been used to discuss the planned pilot activities in Saxony-Anhalt - the implementation of a "Gemeindebus" (operated by the local public authority) or "Citizen Bus" (operated by an association of local residents) - with all participants focusing on possible locations, existing initiatives, multipliers, and risks involved. Finally, the stakeholders have been invited to participate in the pilot phase, specify first ideas, and communicate to partners within their territory or institution.
