NEWS, DOUBTS AND DISPUTES
On October 10th, 2018 in Grado an annual event for general physicians and family pediatricians
of the Friuli Venezia Giulia region was organized. The meeting was co-organized by Focus IN
CD partners University of Trieste and Burlo Garofolo hospital in cooperation with the Italian
celiac disease association. Event was attended by 550 people.
The program focused on themes related to the improvement of diagnosis and health care of
celiac disease patients. The main topics were: how to recognize celiac disease, how to make a
diagnosis, how to manage follow up and transition from adolescence to adult.
Part of the program was also the presentation of the data regarding the „knowledge of celiac
disease“ among health care professionals obtained during the Focus IN CD first work package
“Assessing celiac disease management practices” activities.
