Young people interested in science and technology could compare their knowledge at the Széchenyi István University this weekend in Győr. At the grand opening of the event, representatives from 74 countries marched on stage individually with their national flags.

Participants in the WRO competed in six ages and four categories. Together with the escorts, about 2,700 people arrived in Győr. During the competition, the teams built and programmed the robots from Lego elements.

In the finals in the Regular category, the robots had to complete a predefined race course to complete a specific task. In the Open category, the robot has to work on a specific topic, which this year was the smart city. In the Football category, the robots played against each other, which scored more goals became the champion. And in the ARC Advanced Robotics Challenge category, it was no longer Lego but a metal element that had to be assembled and programmed into a robot.
