ChemMultimodal Final Conference in Magdeburg, Germany

The international conference of the ChemMultimodal project took place at the Virtual Development and Training Centre (VDTC) in Magdeburg, Germany.
The aim of the conference was to discuss the most important project results together with scientists and companies from the chemical industry. The final conference was opened by Prof. Dr. Michael Schenk, Head of Fraunhofer IFF, who introduced the Fraunhofer IFF and its importance of research and teaching activities in the field of transportation. Also Thomas Webel, Minister for Transport and Regional Development Saxony-Anhalt, also emphasized the importance of multimodality in order to tackle the current challenges in the field of transport and to contribute to the energy-efficient and resource-efficient transport of chemical goods.
In addition to the presentation of the project results, several representatives of transport logistics as well as practice-oriented experts spoke on topics such as building .
The second session of the event was dedicated to the presentation of regional and national action plans. In five minutes, project Partners pitched their activities to promote multimodal transport in the chemical industry in Central Europe. For example, the Austrian project partner presented the Transport School Lab, which serves as an education platform to transfer knowledge and strengthen capacity for multimodal Transport.
