District heating storage in Weiz - expansion of the biomass heating plant at Weizberg

As with all construction measures at places under monument and landscape protection, one of the biggest challenges for the biomass heating plant at Weizberg is to bring this extension in line with the regulations and requirements of the monument protection. The construction phase began in February 2020 and was completed with the installation of the water buffer storage tank at the end of June 2020. All challenges that arose from the implementation of the expansion were excellently mastered by the measures taken (see photos). During the construction phase, and also during the whole project, partnerships were established between W.E.I.Z. (Andrea Dornhofer), AEE INTEC (Michael Reisenbichler); Biomasse Heizwerk Weizberg (Johannes Schinagl & Johann Neuhold), TM Haas (Johann Haas) and the parish of Weizberg (Anton Herk-Pickl & Herbert Ederer).
