5th URBAN INNO PSC MEETING IN RIJEKA

The 5th URBAN INNO PSC meeting was held on the 17th and 18th of October 2017 in Rijeka, Croatia, hosted by the project’s lead partner, the City of Rijeka, and gathering representatives from all 12 project partners to discuss hot topics on project progress. The meeting was a good occasion to highlight the already achieved results and plan the very next steps.

In terms of the establishment of quadruple-helix clusters in the target regions, core teams have been trained, the innovation roadmaps have been lined out and, therefore, the formal launch events of the clusters can be organized.

The Smart participatory methods and toolbox on-line manual are now designed in detail. The manual consists of 53 cards with various topics, and will be used for the engagement of end-users (citizens & consumers) in the innovation process. The cards cover determined elements in the Systems for using existing ICT tools: Building the relationships, Invitations, Starting of interactions, Documentation, Remote audiences, Follow up, and Continued interaction. All tooltips and directions, provided on cards, were defined in order to engage stakeholders before, during and after events.

In addition, during a mini-workshop, all the partners contributed with their proposals for the establishment of a unified set of indicators to evaluate the different project pilots. The overall activity pointed out and collected several inputs to be considered in the evaluation model that will be developed and shared again between all Pilot Managers. The emerging indication is a weighted balance between quantity and quality measurements for all different target groups. Also, the introductory discussion made some previous experiences in pilot evaluation emerge, in particular from the CENTRALAB project (coordinated by the PP E-zavod).

During the meeting, the upcoming activities related to the transnational urban innovation cooperation strategy were agreed upon in terms of objectives, activities and timeline, starting from cluster analysis and ecosystem development in each project region.

Coming near to its mid-term, URBAN INNO is continuing with progress within all project activities. The next checkpoint will be the 6th PSC meeting in Eisenstadt, Austria, on March 2018.
