Testing improved approaches for passenger mobility
The objective was to experiment innovative approaches for public passenger transport in peri-urban areas. For this sake, pilot actions were undertaken in the following fields of concern:
- testing participatory concepts and awareness raising to canvass new passengers;
- testing smart intermodal tools to make multimodal travelling more seamless;
- testing a simpler tariff and ticketing to make intermodal travelling customer friendly;
- testing conceptual planning approaches to better integrate different means of transport.
In all participating regions the intermodal integration between bus and rail (and other modes) is rather poor for the peri-urban territories. Hence there was little real-world experience, how effective certain measures will be.

| Grosuplje (SI) | Smart, interactive, intermodal displays were tested to improve intermodality and connectivity at two sub-nodes in the vecinity of Ljubljana. |
| Trnava (SK) | The rail connection Bratislava - Trnava was integrated into the Integrated transport system of the Bratislava region. |
| Soemmerda (DE) | A feasibility study for implementing an integrated synchronised timetable or local busses was conducted, so that Soemmerda as a sub-node can be better connected with the main node Erfurt. |
