RIHEMBERK CASTLE GOING “LIVE” AGAIN FOR SUMMER SEASON 2018 

After a winter break, during which preparation for the new season took place, Rihemberk Castle opened its doors to visitors again on the 26th of April 2018. The castle owner, the Municipality of Nova Gorica, organised an opening event to celebrate the beginning of the new season. The event was based around the traditional “medieval touch”, as well as the fresh energy of young actors from the Nova Gorica National theatre. The event was directed towards children, with “medieval” workshops, games, and guided tours adapted for the interests of younger visitors. The whole event also served as a “live” example of the results of possible castle revitalisation. 

The day before the opening, RESTAURA partners ZRC SAZU and the Municipality of Nova Gorica organised RESTAURA Info Day – an event intended primarily to inform private investors who could potentially be interested in using PPP schemes to collaborate with the Municipality of Nova Gorica on the Rihemberk castle revitalisation. The presentations at the Info Day led to interesting conversations and suggestions for the future of Rihemberk, including thoughts about creative solutions using “start up” or similar principles.
