Who we are!
Economic Development Corporation, City of Chemnitz
We as a business development corporation believe that networking is one of the most important things we can do in a city to make economic innovation happen. Our key activities are promotion of the city, project work for the city´s economy and tourism.
As part of this overall mission, we engage more and more with CCI: since 2010, we run the Chemnitz days of industrial culture as an anniversary event, currently expanding to the region. In 2016 we set up an internal department for CCI, which runs its own small funding scheme for locating CCI in Chemnitz, co-organizes festivals, CCI fairs and much more.
In this way we are well-connected with all branches of CCI as well as industry in Chemnitz and beyond. We are a key player in this topic with a clear regional responsibility beyond the city border. In former times, Chemnitz was known as one of the most vibrant, innovative city for industries: traditional industries played an important role for the city and the citizens.
To keep the history in mind, reflecting the present times and transforming it into new ideas and possibilities for the future is one of our goals in the process of INDUCCI. We want to share our knowledge and learn from our project partners to develop new pilot projects on a regional and transnational level.
