Dynaxibility partners start working on strategies for improving low-carb mobility planning

Functional Urban Areas (FUAs) in Central Europe lack integrated approaches to low-carbon mobility planning and implementation of new mobility solutions, such us MaaS, CAD and UVAR.

The effective integration of these new mobility trends, disruptive technologies, and solutions in regional transport systems requires strong capability of public transport authorities to analyse, monitor and assess these mobility solutions and their potential environmental & socio-economic impact for planning a low-carbon mobility future.

To increase capacities of public authorities for a more dynamic and flexible mobility planning in FUAs, Dynaxibility is further developing and contextualizing the current SUMP Topic Guides on MaaS, CAD and UVAR. Furthermore, Dynaxibility city partners will deliver 6 action plans for the involved FUAs on integrating new mobility trends into their SUMPs: Leipzig (CAD), Stuttgart (CAD), Graz (MaaS), Budapest (MaaS), Parma (UVAR), Koprivnica (MaaS) and Krakow (UVAR). The lessons learned from these action plans will feed the development of the guidelines to help contextualize them to Central Europe.

Work on the strategies has begun with organization of thematic analysis workshops and the delivery of the concept note for the new documents and will continue over the course of 2021 inviting relevant European stakeholders to participate in the development process via workshops and webinars. The new updated guidelines will be finalized and made public in February 2022.
