The key ingredient to managing plastic waste could be trade

The World Economic Forum introduces a briefing note  with an interesting angle on the plastics pollution problem. The key  to reducing the production and pollution of single-use plastics, which has become one of the main environmental problems is to further boost the three "R's": reduce, reuse, and recycle. 

How to do that?  Well, since 2019 most of the plastics has been added to the Basel Convention meaning that it's trade is regulated and legal and that could possibly be one of the catalyst in establishing more streamlined value chains for recyclable plastics. Read the whole story HERE...
