Local stakeholders in Udine meet for feasibility study visit - first visit was to Udine Mercati
The Italian partners of the Citycircle project (Municipality of Udine and APE FVG) and the stakeholders involved in the local pilot project (NET, CAFC, Udine Mercati and the University of Udine) are organizing a series of visits to the structures and plants involved in the feasibility study underway by the University of Udine.
The first of these visits took place on Friday 30 April, at the Udine Mercati plant which is a wholesale agri-food market that covers an area of 150,000 square meters. Within the feasibility study, one of the possible scenarios involves the use of waste heat deriving from the NET (waste management company) and CAFC (municipal water management company) plants for the realization of a district heating/cooling network which can supply, in the summer months, the energy needed for the refrigerators of Udine Mercati.
The meeting showed the active interest of stakeholders involved and the potential of the project to create a real economic and environmental value in the local area.
