Right after Karlovac, Mantova launched its series of Urban Walks with the event “Attraverso una Città d’Acqua e Arte”.
The event started with an infoday about BhENEFIT Project and Int-Herit (part of URBACT network), both working for developing solutions for cultural heritage sustainable conservation, and then was followed by an urban walk focused on Giulio Romano’s works throughout the city.
During the Infoday, citizens and stakeholders were presented the web-GIS tool developed by BhENEFIT Project, sharing the goals and features of the tool and asking them to collaborate to the collection of data and feedbacks for our first pilot action.
But the urban walk was also the perfect context to present the urban regeneration project of Giulio Romano’s “Pescherie” (fish markets) lead by Foundation “Le Pescherie”, which aims to the restoration of the complex, bringing new life and uses to one of the most important monuments of the city and recalling the celebration of Giulio Romano's Year in Mantova.
