MaGICLandscapes at 10th IALE World Congress 

Implementing the Green Infrastructure Approach in Central Europe and beyond

This was the title of the MaGICLandscapes session at the 10th World Congress of the International Association of Landscape Ecologists (IALE) from 1rst -5th July 2019 in Milano/Italy with around 1,000 participants. The GI workshop was organised by the project partners Leibniz-Insitute for Ecological Urban and Regional Development, University of Vienna (CVL) and Silva Tarouca Research Institute for Landscape and Ornamental Gardening (VÚKOZ).

Around 100 participants listened to altogether 12 presentations covering a broad thematic field starting from an introduction to the concept of Green Infrastructure (GI), reflections on the needs for a sound GI assessment and good practice examples of how manage and implement green infrastructure at national, regional and local level. The MaGICLandscapes project partners introduced the audience to their assessment methods of the functionality and services GI elements in urban and rural contexts can provide for people and wildlife.
